QUEEN’S of INDIA, NUSA DUA - BALI

Tanjung Benoa is a slender, 5-kilometre-long peninsula, which juts into the bay north of Nusa Dua, pointing like a finger towards Benoa Harbour. On a clear day, the views of the towering sea cliffs of Nusa Penida and the mighty volcano, Gunung Agung, are quite spectacular. Here, you will find watersports operators all along the beach. The village of Benoa on the tip was once a bustling trading port; the mercantile hub for the southern Bukit Badung and the eastern islands, and many Chinese and Bugis descendants of these traders still live in the area. This is the place to explore local life; the backstreets are a rabbit warren of alleys pocketed with small shops. Nestled within the narrow lanes of the village you will find Balinese temples crafted from carved limestone, a mosque, an ancient Chinese Buddhist temple and a traditional open-air market. A string of luxury hotels borders the Badung Strait including Novotel Bali Benoa, Aston Bali, The Oasis Beach Benoa, Melia Benoa, Grand Mirage, Conrad Bali, Club Bali Mirage, and Ramada Resort. This is also the location of the famous Bumbu Bali restaurant and cooking school, and another well known restaurant – The TAO Bali.
